Choosing the Right Part of the Belek Coast

A practical breakdown of the five sectors in the Belek area, comparing travel times, local surroundings, and hotel locations across the region.

Holidaymakers planning a trip to the coast east of Antalya often find that hotels listing "Belek" in their name are spread across five distinct administrative areas. The overall resort belt spans roughly thirty kilometres of flat coastal land between the Aksu river to the west and the Köprüçay river to the east. Selecting the right area depends on what you want nearby, whether that is commercial shopping avenues, golf courses, quiet riverbanks, or direct routes into local towns.

Travel times from Antalya Airport (AYT) vary according to which specific area you choose. Because the main D400 highway runs slightly inland, accessing each coastal strip involves turning off towards the shore along tree-lined access roads.

Kadriye and Central Belek

Kadriye forms the western section of the resort district. Driving from Antalya Airport to Kadriye covers 38 km and takes about 38 minutes by car. Kadriye contains major entertainment complexes including The Land of Legends theme park, alongside pedestrian shopping streets, cafes, and commercial outlets. Many of the region's established golf courses sit directly between the centre of Kadriye and the beachfront resorts.

Central Belek is located 35 km from Antalya Airport, requiring a drive of roughly 35 minutes by car. The town centre features a paved pedestrian zone with restaurants, local shops, and weekly market stalls. Direct access roads connect the town centre to a long line of front-line beach resorts situated among mature umbrella pine trees. Accommodation here provides quick access to central dining options while keeping the beach within easy reach.

Boğazkent and Denizyaka

Further east along the shoreline lies Boğazkent. A journey from Antalya Airport to Boğazkent is 45 km and takes approximately 45 minutes by car. Boğazkent ends at the mouth of the Köprüçay river. The area has a calm atmosphere, characterised by wide sand-and-shingle beaches and large resort properties spread across flat coastal terrain. It contains small local shops and pharmacies, but far fewer commercial centres than Kadriye or central Belek.

Just across the Köprüçay river sits Denizyaka, which falls within the neighbouring Manavgat district boundary. The route from Antalya Airport to Denizyaka is 50 km, taking about 50 minutes by car. Denizyaka consists mainly of modern hotel complexes set among agricultural land and coastal scrub, appealing to holidaymakers who prefer a quiet resort base away from busier holiday towns.

Serik and Regional Hotel Names

Serik is the main administrative district town, set several kilometres inland from the coastal resort strip. Driving from Antalya Airport to Serik covers 40 km, taking around 40 minutes by car along the main highway. Serik is a working Turkish town focused on agriculture, regional trade, and local services rather than tourism. Visitors rarely stay in Serik itself, but it provides practical amenities such as banks, regional bus connections, and hardware markets.

Travelers often notice that resorts in Kadriye, Boğazkent, or Denizyaka carry "Belek" in their official titles. The name is used as a regional brand for the entire resort coast. Checking the specific address of your accommodation before travelling clarifies where you will be situated in relation to local shops, golf courses, or river excursions.
